DETROIT, MI – Police report a customer shot and killed an armed robber during a hold-up at a Detroit gas station.
Around 1 a.m. Tuesday a 23-year-old man approached a customer at a Mobil gas station while he was trying to buy cigarettes at the station’s outside service window.
Police say the customer was approached from behind by the suspect who told him to take everything out of his pockets. The customer turned around and shot the suspect multiple times. Investigators are now going over security footage from the station, which captured the shooting.
“The customer was questioned by police and his gun was taken as evidence.
An investigation remains ongoing. Police say all findings will be turned over to the prosecutor’s office, which will determine if any charges will be filed.
